Policy Issues
Foreign policy
Joel Faliski understands the importance of a selective foreign policy, dealing with nations and exterior political factions individually, as opposed to regimenting a uniform policy plan to be applied regardless of the contemporary state of foreign relations.
Conflict in Syria
Conflict in Syria has continued unabated for nearly a half-decade and nearly 250,000 Syrians have lost their lives as a result of the fighting. Joel is determined to oversee the emergence of an independent Kurdish state in the region, facilitate the dissolution of the Islamic State, and strive to have Syrian President Bashar Al Assad tried for war crimes committed against the nation's citizens. Faliski will not support the formation Russian proxy-occupation or puppet states in the region and supports implementing sanctions against Russia should they attempt any such operation.
To deal with the massive number of refugees left in the wake of this conflict, Faliski intends on implementing a host plan in which refugees, after passing a series of security background checks, apply for admission to the United States and are then sent to a volunteer host. Hosts and refugees will be monitored to ensure against abuses and the host will have to prove their ability to sustain the number of refugees they request.
Alliances and Unity
Joel Faliski will maintain historic foreign relations with the majority of our Nation’s contemporary allies. Faliski will continue to support both the EU and NATO, promises to maintain neutrality in Israel-Palestine, support continued Ukrainian independence from Russia, refuses concession to the “One China” policy, and support the Pacific Powers in resistance against North Korea.
In addition to these policies, Faliski also supports dissuasive diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia until the removal of their archaic legal system, enactments, and ordinances.
Trade and Economic Relations
Joel Faliski’s foreign economic policies will curtail American dependence on Chinese manufactory in favor of Indian producers. In addition to this, Faliski seeks a revision of the NAFSA trade agreement in order to make it more well suited for the present economy. Faliski also hopes to discontinue embargos against Iran and Cuba and subsequently form trade relations with both nations. Lastly, Faliski wishes to implement a new foreign aid agenda policy, requiring developing nations to submit to an inspection determining their humanitarianism and denying aid to nations that have committed human rights violations.

Gun Control
Joel Faliski is aware of the importance of people's personal safety as well as the importance of legal protections for manufacturers and dealers.
Closing the Gun Show Loophole
Approximately 15% of firearm purchases in 2015 had no background check and were not between family or friends. In the interest of preventing dangerous people from purchasing firearms, buyers should be required to pass a background check as a prerequisite to purchase legal firearms. In order to prevent burdening retailers of firearms, consumers should be required to obtain a permit or licence to purchase firearms, requiring them to pass a basic background check.
Greater Restrictions on Violent Felons and the Mentally Ill
In order to promote personal safety those likely to commit violent crimes against others should be prevented from purchasing firearms. Dangerous people such as those who have committed violent felonies and the mentally unstable should not be allowed to purchase firearms as they are more likely to harm others.
Greater Restrictions on Military Grade Weaponry and Incendiaries
Weapons that are obviously not intended for hunting or personal safety should be more heavily regulated. Tactical weaponry exceeds the minimal requirements of firearms as used for personal protection or hunting. There is no tangible argument supporting military grade weaponry or incendiaries as necessary to personal protection from an external force.
Extend Background Checks to all Firearms Purchasers
All firearms purchases should have some form of background check whether the seller performs the check or the buyer is required to get a licence. Preventing people who are likely to harm others, such as those affiliated with terrorist cells, from purchasing firearms is a necessary step to ensure the safety of all.
Manufacturers and Dealers No Longer Liable for Consumer’s Actions
The continued support of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act is a necessary step in protecting firearm manufacturers and retailers. Manufacturers should only be held responsible if the weapon itself fails to work properly not if someone commits a crime with it. Furthermore dealers should not be held responsible for crimes their customers commit unless the customer did not pass a background check.
Civil Rights and Civil Liberities
Joel Faliski understands the importance of civil rights which ensure that all people are treated equally under the law regardless of inherent traits including race, sexuality, or income level.
Legalization of Marijuana
Joel Faliski believes that marijuana should be legalized for several reasons. First, marijuana legalization will increase economic stimulation. It will also provide for a more effective criminal justice and law enforcement system because police officers will no longer have to focus on petty drug crimes. Furthermore, marijuana legalization will allow wider access to marijuana for medical use, particularly cancer patients. Personal freedom is very important and the legalization of marijuana will give people more freedom to make their own decisions. Joel wants to legalize and regulate marijuana in the same way that America currently manage tobacco and alcohol.
End the School to Prison Pipeline
The trend of students leaving high school and being directly incarcerated in jails and juvenile facilities is a major problem, especially because poor minorities are normally the ones who are experiencing this trend. Joel believes we need to increase funding to intercity and low class neighborhood schools. He believes that providing more opportunities for youth in these areas will help to avoid the flow of people into prisons.
Reduction of Reincarceration
Joel Faliski believes that we should implement educational and trade based skills programs which allow prisoners to develop work experience while in prison. He also believes that we should create programs implementing anger management and violence counseling so prisoners have the resources to know how to control their emotions. Further, he thinks that once prisoners get out of prison they should not have to report the incident while interviewing for a job if they have served their sentence accurately and if they were not convicted of a violent felony.
Right to an Abortion
Joel Faliski takes a pro-choice stance on abortion. He believes in continuing to uphold the Roe v. Wade ruling. He thinks that women have the rights to their bodies and are thus able to make their own medical decisions about abortion.
Support Unions
Joel Faliski understands the importance of workers rights which include their right to collective bargaining by unionization. He intends to pursue deterrents against businesses that prioritize potential profit over the wellbeing of their employees.

College affordability
Joel Faliski understands the importance of making college affordable so that American citizens can become competitive in whatever branch of the job market they decide to enter post college, so that instead of focusing on paying back loans, students can focus on helping to progress the American economy.
Push Federal Funding as Correlated with Institutional Performance
In order to increase institutional performance and lower the cost of college, funding should be based on accomplishment of institutional mission. For or example reward research institutions based on research and community colleges based on the number of workforce trainees produced.

Encourage Cuts to Wasteful University Programs
Universities spend an incredibly large amount of money in non-academic programs, such as athletics which funnel money away from the academic core of education. USA today states ¨Division I schools with football spent $91,936 per athlete in 2010, seven times the spending per student of $13,628. Division I universities without football spent $39,201 per athlete, more than triple the average student spending.” In addition “Northern Kentucky University can't afford a new center to house nursing and other growing programs, but it can expand to Division I sports. Students and taxpayers pick up $8.5 million of the school's $10 million athletic budget.”
After 2030 Offer to Forgive All Student Loans
The increased financial strain on students post-college is a serious issue. By issuing bankruptcy protection we can allow those who have completed college to focus their skills on making money to put back into the economy.
Increase Private School Oversight
Relatively low governmental oversight can result in schools where the notion of secular education is generally ignored. Students who have no choice but to go to schools which disseminate falsified information not rooted in fact need a larger amount of oversight in order to standardize the quality of education.
Expand FAFSA
In order to encourage application to universities by students from underprivileged backgrounds FAFSA needs to be expanded. By increasing government funding to FAFSA in order to increase its accessibility. Continuing to increase the amount that Pell Grants, grants that students to afford college, can pay to students in need would move towards the goal.

Taxation and federal spending
Joel will support tax cuts by 10% for lower income families, 5% for middle income families, and tax raises of 10-15% on higher income families, including the top 1%. This tax bracket will put more money into programs which benefit the people while also allowing lower income families to not only save more money, but to have more flexible spending budgets, redirecting money back into the economy and raising the GDP.
2. Business tax
Joel will support the cutting of taxes on small businesses by 5% and the raising of taxes on large corporations by 5% to create a basic guideline based on the income of a business. As a result, small businesses will be able to grow, thereby creating a more competitive economy that isn’t controlled by mega-corporations making billions each year for their private investors.
3. Other tax plans
Joel supports the overruling of Citizens United, putting an end to the practice of Super-PACS that allow corporations to put billions into elections campaigns.
Joel will work towards eliminating loopholes in income tax law, preventing the top 1% from skipping by taxes and forcing them to pay their fair share.
Federal Spending
Joel will reduce the amount of defense contractors on Washington’s payroll to a select few reliable companies that have been known to do extensive background checks. This will prevent wasteful spending of federal grants on unscrupulous contractors while keeping the federal defense budget at an adequate level to maintain American safety, both at home and abroad.
Joel supports cutting subsidies for oil and coal, encouraging them via the free market to adapt to more sustainable and efficient methods of providing energy for America.
